While in Mexico I had quite a bit of time in the car to knit. On the flight down there I started the Eleanora socks on the flight down to Guadalajara. The pattern is fun to knit because there is enough going on to keep you interested but the pattern is easy enough that you don't have to think too much about it. Pictured at left is how far I got with one skein. The yarn is from Sundara Yarn in color 12. I think that she has changed her put up since I purchase this yarn. I started sock #2 on the flight back home and have finished up the ball. I ordered more yarn and am waiting for Sundara to dye it up and send it out so I can finish these socks up.
I knit this pair in the car and while walking around in the various cities we visited. They are knit with Sock Candy from Blue Moon Fiber Arts that I bought at Rhinebeck from The Fold. I knit them on two circular needles and knit them while I walked around. Needless to say I got a lot of comments. People don't seem to be using circular needles in the cities we visited in Mexico but I did see women knitting while tending their booths at the mercados. The socks were knit on the same amount of stitches but obviously the skeins were dyed slightly differently.
I also started the Swallowtail Shawl using the lace weight cashmere yarn from School Products that I bought on my trip to New York. I've finished the main part of the shawl and am now onto the nupps. I'm making this shawl as a present for my mother. I haven't gotten any farther on this than is shown in the picture because I am helping Jen by test knitting one of the sizes of Elphin Goth for her. The pattern is a lot of fun and so different from anything out there. I encourage everyone to make the sweater when the pattern comes out. It will really expand your notions as to sweater construction.
Have a great weekend!
Hi Brooke, I couldn't find your email from SOAR (my program went AWOL)
But, I hope you don't mind that I "tagged" you as one of my 5 blogs in this post.

It's supposed to be fun, so if you don't want to do it, that's fine too.
Good to read up on you!
