Some of you knitters out there must be rolling their eyes and saying, "Not another one!" Yep, it is another one of Kate Gilbert's Clopotis (no link needed, right?). I am making this as a sample for my LYS. I guess that the store is going to start carrying Curious Creek Fibers' full line of yarn so they sent along some samples with patterns to knit to showcase their yarns.
This is another sample that I am knittng for the store with Curious Creek's yarn. I think that this yarn is called Arusha but I am not 100% sure as I received the yarn already balled and ready to be knit. The pattern is called "Garden Trellis Scarf or Stole." There is no name on the pattern but apperently it is someone who also has had designs in Knitty. The pattern is simple and goes fairly quickly considering it is knit on size 15 needles.
This weekend we spent almost entirely in Berkeley. On Saturday I got to hang out and knit with my good friend Erika. You should check out her website. She does the most amazing quilts. They are more like fabric paintings than quilts. She lives up in the hills above Bekeley and it was one of those rare clear days where the fogs waits outside the Golden Gate Bridge and you can see the whole bay. So we took a walk around her neighborhood and took in the view. It was such a beautiful day!
On Sunday, Quique and I went to the Giants game with my mother and step-father. The Giants beat the Mets 3-1 (Sorry Erica!) and I got a knitter's tan. It was another beautiful day and even though I was wearing sunscreen and a hat I got a little burned on my neck. I was working on the clapotis during the game and the top of my hands got really tan and almost burned. It's just a different version of famer's tan, right?
I am about to embark on making a sweater for myself from my own handspun that I will be spinning from the lock. I will show you images tomorrow of the Polwarth (sorry for the earlier misspellings!) that I will be using and my first swatch. I am really excited but totally worried that I won't be able to consistant in my spinning when I have to spin up a pound and a half of locks. Worst case senario I just wear the sweater at home and by myself, right?
I love that green, and can't wait to see the sweater process. (And don't sweat the misspellings, it seems every time I see it in a blog it is spelled differently.)
